How would you use $150,000 to help horses?
The Right Horse Initiative strives to inspire and empower groups who are working to help horses in transition. That is why we are proud to announce that the The Right Idea Grant Challenge offers up to $150,000 to the organization that demonstrates the most innovative plan for boosting equine adoption. Our goal is to fund smarter thinking and better ways of doing things in order to help your organization grow its capacity for adoption in a big way.
Eligibility
Eligible applications must meet the following criteria:
1Your organization must be a U.S. based 501(c)(3) public charity.
2Your organization must be current with all applicable federal and state financial filings or reports.
3Your organization must be willing and able to provide financial reporting to The Right Horse Initiative.
4Your organization must be willing and able to provide animal statistics, including intake and adoption numbers, to The Right Horse Initiative.
5Your organization must have an annual operating budget of at least $150,000.
6If you have received funding from The Right Horse Initiative or The WaterShed Animal Fund, you must be up-to-date on current or previous funding reports.
7You must agree to complete grant follow up reports 6 months, 12 months and 18 months from the payment date which will include expense accounting and measurable outcome updates.

The portal to submit The Right Idea is now closed. We are in the process of selecting the finalists and will announce them here by October 1st, 2017. The final grant recipient will be announced on November 15, 2017.
