Shera + Story
I went to a rescue looking for a riding horse. I fell in love with a 10-day-old filly whose mother was rescued from the Indian reservation slaughter pipeline. I had never raised a foal, much less trained one. She is the light of my life and was such an easy baby to train. Never a problem or fear in my mind. Now that she is turning six, I feel like she should be the poster horse for great rescue adoptions. Her name is Story and what a great story she is!

This is what “right horse” means to me.
I think we have to stop looking for the “right horse” and start looking at how we are with horses. All horses have something to teach us and share with us.
