For the past seven years, he has heard all my secrets and caught my tears. He’s taught me everything I know as far as riding goes, and how to be a better human. Leo will always be my heart horse.

We walk, trot, and canter fully racked up or bareback with a halter. She’s my best friend, my heart horse, my right horse. All it took was showing her that there was someone out there that wouldn’t give up on her.

I look forward to having this lovely horse for the rest of his life and having all sorts of adventures together. I am planning on learning to do liberty work, western dressage, and trail riding with him. He is my perfect match!

I was right, their connection on the ground and in the saddle was instant, my daughter felt so safe and connected to her.She hadn’t been adopted yet because she was waiting for us and now I understand…these two are magic together and a match made in horse rescue heaven.

There are so many wonderful horses who are looking for and deserve a second job, second chance, and second life. Chessrate just needed the right owner to come along. I honestly believe she picked me. The Right Horse made sure we found each other.

For my 16th birthday, when most girls get a car, I was blessed to get a horse named Cooper and call him mine! I was the happiest girl ever. We had such a bond and a love from the minute we laid eyes on each other. I will never forget the day that we rescued each other!

Today, Prince and I enjoy lots of trail rides together and he also participates in Equine Psychotherapy helping kids and adults on the ground. I’m proud to tell everyone that my horse makes me a better person, and it’s true

As the months went by he would reach out and lightly touch me with his nose, just to be close to me. I think that was a big step for him. He tried so hard to do what I asked. He really loved me, I think, before I loved him.

I fell in love with Champ and just had to have him. Champ wasn’t like the other horses. There is something about him that I just fell in love with. We connected so well and it’s like we understood one another.

The love they share for one another is so special it’s hard to put it into words. Una’s eyes light up when she hears her voice. Una still follows Cariana everywhere she goes. It is a beautiful thing to see the love these two have for each other.

The right horse is a soul horse. They may not be the prettiest or most athletic, but something about them fills a piece of your heart that you never knew was empty. They shape you and make an impact on your life that lasts forever.

The moment they gave me the green light to apply, I went to work on the adoption application. A week later Pilgrim was finally part of our family!
We have stuck right by each other’s side and always will. I am thankful I adopted my best friend.
